Every church says, "Everyone is welcome", but who actually feels welcomed when they walk through our doors? What happens to the very people Jesus consistently moved toward, the ones on the edges, the misunderstood, the judged, and the quietly hurting? A compassionate church doesn't just open its doors; it opens its heart. And the way we treat the "others" among us reveals more about our discipleship than any sermon we preach. In this session, leaders will learn how to build ministries that embrace those who are often overlooked, including LGBTQ individuals, people who are divorced, pregnant outside of marriage, or living with mental illness, with the same compassion Jesus showed to people on the margins. Attendees will explore how to reduce stigma, create safe environments, foster belonging, and develop real pathways for meaningful ministry involvement.
